The Travellers appeal has been dismissed and planning permission refused by the Planning Inspector for the land behind  Rampiers next to the sewerage works.

This means the high court injunction and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council enforcement notices are still valid and any attempt to occupy the site is a criminal offence for which the Police must take action.

The inspectorate dismissed any possible temporary occupation of the land, whilst alternative sites were located.  He also said the damaged ground needs to be repaired
